MARIA JOSE MARCOS (España, 1981) Dirige su propio estudio de arquitectura MAGICARCH desde el año 2008 con proyectos geolocalizados principalmente en Europa y Asia. Su estudio de magicarch propone diseñar proyectos de arquitectura mediante respuestas complejas e integradas con la tecnología, siempre con una mirada al futuro ecosistémico, afrontándolos desde un posicionamiento crítico y propositivamente fabulador, capaz de modificar el territorio contemporáneo. El estudio magicarch se especializa en el diseño atmosférico inmerso en la naturalización, la interculturalidad, la postproducción, la ecología y el postcyberpunk, fielmente ligada a la teoría y a la práctica. Las nuevas tecnologías, el disñeo con energías invisibles y la visión de un futuro cambiante son parte fundamental de la práctica politécnica del estudio, permitiéndole optimizar y dotar de nuevas utilidades y visiones a los objetos, las arquitecturas y los tejidos urbanos.
Es profesora de proyectos arquitectónicos desde el año 2008 en diferentes Universidades del mundo. Entre ellas profesora asociada en Soongsil University, Seúl 2012-2014. Profesora invitada en la AA School of Architecture in de Londres en 2012-2014, profesora colaboradora en la unidad docente de Iñaki Ábalos Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid ETSAM en 2011, profesora invitada en el taller vertical de la UIC-ESARQ International University of Catalonia de Barcelona en 2011 y profesora colaboradora en la Universidad de Alicante desde 2008-2011 y 2015-2018.
Durante su carrera ha recibido varios premios como Finalista en XIIIBEAU Spanish Architecture Bienale 2016, la selección de su proyecto fin de carrera para la III Bienal de arquitectura Española en 2008. Ha sido finalista en el ONE PRIZE de Nueva York en 2011 y ONE PRIZE de Nueva York en 2014, el primer premio en el concurso de arquitectura IV SCHINDLER, o el premio de Educación para jóvenes emprendedores de la Comunidad Valenciana y el premio destacados en educación de Orihuela.
Sus proyectos han sido expuestos en varias exposiciones internacionales entre las que cabe destacar la exposición ‘Seoul Architecture festival’ Seúl en -Korea del Sur-2014, ‘Mediterranean vs Caspian Sea’Baku, Azerbaijan 2013, ‘EXPORT Spanish Architects abroad’ Museo Ico '100 architects of the year' para el KIA Korean Institute of Architects de Seúl en -Korea del Sur- (2012), la III Biennale de arquitectura de Rotterdam -Holanda- (2006), la VIII Bienal de arquitectura de Venecia -Italia- (2002), 'Festival de Arquitectura de Seúl' (2014) y en el Korean Institute of Youth Facilities and Environment en Daegu -Korea del Sur- (2012). En su práctica curatorial, ella ha organizado exposiciones y eventos para el Centro de arte contemporáneo La Conservera en Murcia -España- (2012), XIII Bienal de arquitectura de Venecia -Italia- (2012), Festival internacional SOS4.8 en Murcia -España- (2012), Colegio oficial de Arquitectos de Murcia COAMU Murcia -España- (2012-11), Colegio oficial de Arquitectos de Alicante COA Alicante -España- (2011), o para Oriente > Galería de arquitectura en Murcia, la primera galería de arquitectura de España, donde ella trabaja como curator desde 2010.
Desarrolla su labor de consultora de arquitectura, participando en jurado de concursos y colaborando como corresponsal y editora de arquitectura en diferentes medios especializados de arquitectura tales como ‘DOMUS’, ‘Neo2’ ‘A10 New European Architecture’, ‘Abitare’ and 'Mark' revistas o el blog de ‘edgargonzalez.com’ . Su color favorito es el IKB.
MARIA
JOSE MARCOS (Spain 1981) is a
Seoul-Murcia based architect. Since 2007, she is the director of Magicarch
after having graduated as an Architect by the University of Alicante with
Honors Cum Laude in her final project, and obtained a Master in
Advanced Architecture Design by the Polytechnic University of Madrid
[ETSAM]. As a professor, she taught Architectural
Design at Soongsil University in Seoul and has been a visiting
teacher at AA School of Architecture in London for the years 2012-2014.
Previously, she has been a lecturer at Iñaki Ábalos Unit at Polytechnic
University of Madrid [ETSAM] in 2011, visiting teacher at Vertical Workshop
of UIC-ESARQ International University of Catalonia in Barcelona in 2011
and Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture of the University of
Alicante from 2008 to 2011. Her firm MAGICARCH is an architecture office. that develop contemporary projects with contemporary and critical thinking, Magicarch design projects of different scales and always in an international context, mainly in Asia and Europe. Magicarch projects starts in the architecture discipline and links to other disciplines such as urbanism, curatorial, art or universities projects. Magicarch always take special attention to the innovative, climatic, atmospheric and scientist parameters of the architecture. . In 2008, she founded together with Gonzalo Herrero
Delicado DOT …Agency for Architectural Affairs, a commitment to the dissemination and critique
of contemporary culture and architecture, developing consultancy, research and
curatorial projects. Since
2006, Magicarch has collaborated with the firm XPIRAL having strengthen their
collaboration in current developmental projects. Magicarch’s projects have
been exhibit in several international exhibitions such as: '100
architects of the year' at the KIA Korean Institute of Architects in
Daejeon and Seoul (2012), III International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam -Netherlands-(2006)
and the VIII Venice Architecture Biennale -Italy- (2002) and the Korean
Institute of Youth Facilities and Environment in Daegu -South Korea-
(2012). In her curatorial practice she has organized and took part of
exhibitions and events at the Contemporary Art Centre La Conservera in
Murcia -Spain- (2012), XIII Venice Architecture Biennale -Italy- (2012),International
Festival of Sustainable Actions SOS4.8 in Murcia -Spain-(2012), Official
Architects Association of Murcia -Spain- (2012), Official Architects
Association of Alicante -Spain- (2012), or the Oriente > Architecture
Gallery in Murcia, the first architecture gallery in Spain. During her
career she has received several awards such as the selection for the III
Biennale of Spanish Architecture in 2008, the 1st prize in the IV
Architecture Competition SCHINDLER, the Education Award for Young
Entrepreneurs of the Valencia Government and she was shortlisted at ONE
PRIZE in New York in 2011 and ONE
PRIZE in New York 2014. Nowadays, She works as a correspondent
and consultant of international architecture, at specialized magazines and
blogs such as ‘DOMUS’, ‘Neo2’ ‘A10 New European Architecture’,
